  1. Hi, I've just brought my Apple SilenType printer back to life yesterday, hooked up on my Apple II Europlus. Amazing it still prints. There is just one problem: it won't move the print roll. So lines are printed on top of each other. I suspect a defective electric motor on the print roll rod. Does anybody here know what the problem could be?

    Laserwriter Pro 630

I finished recapping the comms board in my LW Pro 630 and now it is working once again! I still need to replace the caps on the DC controller board but at least it is working now that the communication board is resurrected. As soon as my next shipment from DigiKey comes in, I'll get the two caps on DC controller swapped out and she should be like a new printer. I have connected the MiniDin-8 to my Apple IIgs, and the ethertalk to the network. I configured ethertalk to my Raspberry Pi running A2SERVER and then shared it via CUPS to all of the modern computers in the house. The computers that I have in this house that can all print to this printer without changing wires are as follows: Apple IIgs (GS/OS 6.0.4) Mac SE (7.0.1) Mac Color Classic (7.0.1) iMac 5,1 (10.7.5) Macbook Pro (2011) Macbook Pro (2008) Macbook (2017) As soon as I can get the Laserwriter drivers installed, I'll be adding my Powerbook 540c to the list.

HP Laserjet 4000 & JetDirect Card

Does anyone know where I might be able to download the JetAdmin software for an HP JetDirect 600 Card? Not the WebJetAdmin HP currently has, this has to work with OS 8.6. We got an old printer for cheap, got a Jetdirect card for cheap, downloaded the printer software for free, but I can't find the Mac version of the JetAdmin Software I need to configure the card.
  5. So, I have a nice working Macintosh IIci running System 7.5.4 (yes, I have a copy). I am thinking of getting a colour printer off eBay. However, I also have a Macintosh SE FDHD (dual floppy) which I might like to print from in the future (running 6.0.8/7.0.1, or maybe 7.1/7.1.1 in the future). Any recommendations for a good, light (less than 10kg/20lb) colour printer? I also have a Canon PIXMA MG6220, and I tried following http://www.vintagemacworld.com/osxprint.html, but even test jobs sent from the Raspberry Pi I did it with didn't print even after ~5 minutes. If I could get the print server working it would be nice. Any ideas?
