    128k ram replacement.

Oi! Even without a Hakko, I did a 128k board with a Big Blue Soldapullt Sucker

BRAND NEW IN BOX - G4 MDD 1.25ghz Mac OS

The next sale is on Wednesday. They're having a canned food drive and running some other discounts so I can see if I can get a decent one at a cheaper price for you, aiming for under $50 shipped if you're interested. Do you have a preference between the 17" and 20"?

Yeah, I have an ADC adapter and it's handy. I also have the other DVIator that is a DVI adapter for the ADC port on your Mac video card. The university sale here had a couple of those displays last time I was there but I think they were around the $50 mark

Making my own SCSI-2-SD (3.5" Version)

These are pretty rad. I hope mmcmaster is successful with the 2.5" version too.

Personally, I'd go for a matching Studio or Cinema display.

    My Latest ...

Made a lucky bid on a working Quadra 950 board for $40 shipped on eBay. Hopefully that gets my Q950 up and running for real.

PCI? Use an AGP card. There was a PC 128MB Radeon 9800 card in the box at the Uni sale last week for $10. You can flash those to Mac. They had a few G4-era Apple video cards too but I didn't check what they were right off. If you're interested, I can have a look next week.

PC2700? I could dig out 2 GB worth from my RAM drawer for you if you'll pay the shipping. It'll save you a few bucks, at least.

That's a pretty hot iron, uni. I don't usually have to exceed 625F unless it's ROHS on a ground layer.

In a restoration, I put down chips.

    128k ram replacement.

It is easy. I think what you mean is that it is tedious. I like to spread it across two work sessions.

    iBook G3/800 12" (02) Rescued

I have always liked the "icy" keyboards on those. I have an older 500 MHz G3 iBook with the silver highlights.

You should be able to find equivalents of the materials I use for a "bath" method of placing all parts in a large, clear plastic bin and covering completely with liquid solution. Find "20 volume clear developer". It's for bleaching hair and you can find it in beauty supply stores. I usually purchase a gallon or two and mix it maybe 1:8 or 1:10 with hot water. I also use about 1/4 cup (60ml?) of any brand "Oxy" oxygenated cleaning powder in with the bath. Dissolve the cleaner with a gallon of hot water before adding. Be sure to move your parts around every 15 minutes or so and check that none are poking above the water line. With strong sunlight, they should be done in an hour or two.

Localtalk network between PB 1400cs and Mac Plus

Good to know. I've never tried it without the terminators before.
