Bah, I hit refresh, now I have to type this all over again. :( OK, so anyway, I was fooling around with my pb 160. I swapped in an ide drive and the screen flashed and went all wierd. so I took it out and put the origional drive back in, and it worked. ok, so then i swapped somore drives in, just for fun. when I went to put the origional drive back in, it didnt work. the scsi cable is fine, it works with all the other drives. So, it doesnt spin up at all what gives? If your feeling nice you can offer to sell me a >100 mb drive! for cheap or you can check out my other topic in balloon help topic.asp.TOPIC_ID=796.html Tito |

Umm...the PB160 is SCSI. If i were you i wouldn't even try an IDE drive...its just not worth it and you may screw something. Stick in a SCSI drive, and hopefully, all should be well.-------------------------- Pizzabox LCs RULE!!!!!!! Warrior maclover5 68k Macintosh Liberation Army Number of 68ks Liberated: 5 |

Yeah, the IDE drive definitely will not work in the 160, since it's SCSI only. I wonder if maybe the button mechanism itself for the contrast control on the 145 is broken? You can try taking the upper case apart to see if all the connections are good and there's no corrosion. 666th poster and 666th thread-creator Mod of the Mac II series Forums Total 68K Macs liberated: 7 Regular Disappear! |
