Well, I finally did it. I convinced our computer purchasing guy to let me exchange that cagey 8100 for the boxed IIsi! Liberated at last! ______________________________________ www.32bitwonder.org ...because it's possible

Congratulations! Was this the IIsi from topic.asp.TOPIC_ID=5439.html ? If so, double congratulations for rescuing a forlorn 68k from the clutches of boredom.G4From128k by Day: Mild-Mannered Engineer and Trapeze(tm) Artist by Night: Colonel of Truth, Justice, and the Macintosh Way Reserve Officer in 68kMLA Cantankerous Coot Contingent Edited by - G4from128k on 04 Sep 2003 14:01:31

Way to go. The IIsi is my favorite 68k Mac, dont know why as I have had or used one, but I love the looks of it.--Eric ___________________________ I Took the Road Less Traveled, and Now Where the Heck Am I? |

We need to fund an organization to have complete line of Macs from a -z completely restored factory settings for 68k's and have them on display at a musuem. We throw away our technology heritage which isn't cool.

COOL!!!!!!!!!!! [:D} But i agree...you NEED to take piccies. Btw, what was wrong with the 8100? Ah well, whatever was wrong with it...its nowhere near as cool as a NIB IIsi. LOL!Yes, it's the same boxed IIsi. I'll take some piccies of it shortly and post it up on my site. There was nothing particularly wrong with the 8100, just...as an old world PM it was somewhat limited, even with the Sonnet G3 in it. Besides a IIsi or 8100? No comparison! I agree with BOJ, something needs to be done in order to preserve the heritage of these computers. ______________________________________ www.32bitwonder.org ...because it's possible |

"value" is relative. :-)Ethically, he can't actually give me either the 8100 or the IIsi as they belong to the company I work for. What he's done however is "loan" me the IIsi (which was actually a loan from Apple which they never claimed). The chances that they'd ever want it back however is slim to none. Still, I wouldn't feel right about auctioning them off. btw, I've posted a teaser on my site. ______________________________________ www.32bitwonder.org ...because it's possible |
