LOL! I've always wanted a "Duo Deck"! I assume that the extremely rare Duo Deck lets the Duo sit on top of the dock so that one can use both the internal LCD screen and an external monitor. G4From128k

If it was closer to my area I would buy that lot and donate them in every way I could. As it is shipping for them would be very high.

let us DuoDeck Bill Gates and Microsoft (taking yet another meaning of "deck" and putting it into a pun from that misspelled duo dock thingy)if there was a such thing as a duo deck I'd be interested... I'm sure it's just a matter of popping off the lid of a duo dock what's a 7100/80 AV II?? we could try another Big@$$BoxLot, but that probably would be a bad idea considering the way the last BoxLot turned out... I would love those PPC's to run Copland on though...________________________ Founder, IBM PS/2 Liberation Front Member, 68kMLA SETI@home Team http://www.kevcave.tk = The Kevcave Manager, the llama-X project. |

Exactly what i was wondering. Btw, I don't think it would be a terribly good idea to do a repeat of the Big@$$BoxLot, either. Dibs on the DuoDeck, if there ever is such a thing!!! (sadly, I think I can see the DuoDOCK in the picture of that EBay auction.)I think Trash80 was working on creating a DuoDeck by hacking a Duodock. IIRC, he never found a way to get both internal and external video working. As to a repeat of the Big@$$BoxLot debacle, I say "run away, run very very far away". The first time was not a very shining moment in 68kMLA history. Not sure which Duo he was hacking. Crazy old jt had multiple Duo hacks going: DuoBoomBoxDock, IIsi/miniDock hack, some sort of Duo 2300 CPU hack, ........ I think the one I was think of was topic.asp.TOPIC_ID=1195.html .G4From128k by Day: Mild-Mannered Engineer and Trapeze(tm) Artist by Night: Colonel of Truth, Justice, and the Macintosh Way Reserve Officer in 68kMLA Cantankerous Coot Contingent

Well, about the duodeck, you can do something close to it with just a regular dock. Just pop the top off the dock and dock the powerbook and the fold up the monitor and boot it up. I couldnt get the display to come up, just the external one, but the keyboard and trackball still came up. I guess Apple decided that it didnt matter to leave them on or off while it was docked because they couldnt be used, and even they could, what harm would come of it. But the LCD used energy and needs to be off whenever possible so it cant be left on while in the dock, maybe someone could write a little software hack to make it stay on, fool it into thinking it was in a MiniDock instead or something.Logan
