Where to get a 575 LC Restore Disc Image?

Anyone know where I can find one? Tried some google searches, but surprisingly, nothing came up. Maybe I'm searching for the wrong thing. If anyone has a line on one, I'd love to know where it is. Thanks!

The 575 shipped with System 7.1. Any 7.1 install set will do in a pinch as long as you have System Enabler 065.

Note that I said "in a pinch" there. You'll be missing the Screen control panel, which is software specific for the 575. You can always pull that out of Apple's 7.5.3 install and it should work fine. You may also want the CD-ROM stuff from that install (drivers and AppleCD Audio Player) if your 575 is equipped as such.

Of course, 7.5.3 will run fine on a 575.

You may be confusing the LC and Performa software sets here. I have both an LC 550 and Performa 575. The LC came with the generic disk set (it also happens to be the rare 550 without a CD-ROM). The restore CD-ROM for the LC would have been similar. The Performa has a different system software altogether (with Performa features) plus some extra software (a few titles actually came on separate discs).

Keep in mind--the LC was the educational model and was priced accordingly for educational institutions (only) at that point. The Performa was the home variant and was competing with all of the cheap PCs with pre-loaded software packages.

It looks like the link got pasted twice.

Try this: http://macintoshgarden.org/apps/macintosh-os-75

It looks like the page has a few different things, this might be the one you want: LC575CD.ZIP: Macintosh LC 575 install CD-ROM image

If it were me, I'd either just pull down retail 7.6 or 7.6.1 and use that, or hunt down a 7.1 set. In general, 7.6.1 should run fine on anything with an '040.

You might also try "7.1.2 for the 630" http://macintoshgarden.org/apps/macintosh-system-712-quadra-630-and-lc630

or some plain 7.1 releases: http://macintoshgarden.org/apps/macintosh-os-71x

Did that work for you? Still shows as down for me. Even checking through "is it down" shows that the site is down.
If you mean Macintosh Garden, you might be having problems because they briefly tried to put up an https site (about two weeks ago), but had to take it down because problems. Ever since, many of us have had to purge browser cache/history to get it to forget the https address. The site itself is fine.
