What's the best Video solution for a Vintage Apple IIe in 2025
Continuing our series on using an Apple IIe in 2025, today we are getting video working. Do we use a vintage monitor to get that authentic CRT look? Or do we use a modern flat screen? Another option is to use a modern Apple II video card. Yes, we can even use HDMI! Watch on to see the options you can use to rock 1977 hardware in 2025 and onwards!

I have tested most of those options, in my opinion all are good.

If i want to go to the authentic feel, i rather choose the CRT, but will go for a color and bigger screen for other purposes,, even have a small LCD 10 inches display for a quick test.

Whilst researching this video, I found out my VidHD card has probably been corrupting my floppy disks. It appears that if a disk is in a drive when it boots, it can cause the drive to write to even copy protected disks, corrupting them. Argh!

I have been working out the next video in the series, about the DiskII system and UniDisk drives, and I've been having JUST that issue. I write out a disk, and then soon afterwards, it wont boot.

Looks like I need to get one of the new A2DVI cards, which I understand does not have this issue and then sell on the VidHD card for a IIgs user to have fun with.
