What kind of conquest is that?

Hi,

I just bought three 1st gen Airport cards on an auction site. Actually I only really needed one to get my Pismo online wirelessly, but sometimes you place only one bid, and win…

So, the three cards work great and the Pismo got his, thanks. But I'm wondering about the adapter one of the cards came in. I have personnally only put Airport cards in iBooks and PowerBooks, but my guess is that it's what was used in early PowerMacs G4. Does it make sense? Who knows what specific models needed this?

G4 Sawtooth and later will take airport cards, but need no adapter.

the adapter, however is used for the new-world imac g3's as they needed a riser to connect to the cards.

All retail airport cards shipped with the adapter, which means a LOT of these adapters were tossed out.

Airport Extremes were a modifed mini-PCI interface, and all systems supporting the card had the slot built in.
