What components are required for power mac G4 to boot

Hi, I recently pulled out my dad’s power Mac G4 quicksilver and I tried to plug it in and boot it up but it didn’t turn on. He said he took some components out. I only know he took out the hard drive and the pram batteries but the others, I don’t know. That’s why I was asking what specific components are required for my model to boot up.

It looks like the hard drive is missing and a fan is dangling. All of mine work fine with no battery, but the time/date will reset if unplugged from the wall.

If it won't power on, it could be the power supply going bad. You could try leaving it plugged in for a while and see what that does. Re-capping usually fixes them unless it was hit by lightning or something. You could also clean and re-seat the various connectors, etc.

I don’t think I will try reseating if I’m being honest because I have no clue how to solder at all

I've found that G4 towers are more than happy to boot without a battery. They can get grumpy when things change though and will appear to be dead. A careful PMU reset should resolve things in that case.

Most everything else looks like it's there other than the fan. I'm not sure if that would prevent a boot but I doubt it. And a missing HD won't stop it.

So maybe try a PMU reset?

Looks like a dual-processor Quicksilver which are unfortunately prone to heat death.
