Voodoo 5 5500!

So a local has been pruning his rather extensive stash of Mac hardware; amongst the various bits of systems and software I got from him, just picked up a Voodoo 5 5500. No manual, but has the drivers and the demo software in the box.

Can't wait to drop this in my Beige G3 and give Marathon 2 a whirl

Marathon 2 has 3DFX support?

Not positive, but it will definitely be faster than the stock Rage 128...

Pretty sure Marathon 2 is all software rendered anyway, so it wouldn't matter.

Exactly - remember, it was intended to be run on Quadra era machines. Not to mention that when it came out (1995), even the original Voodoo1 cards would have been absolutely bleeding edge - if they even existed. (Voodoo1 came out in '96, right?)

Aleph One might support 3DFX cards though....

Get some beta 3dfx drivers for opengl and rock aleph one

For many years this was the best possible card to run Diablo II on in a Mac, as you could turn on the anti-aliasing feature :-D
