Well, if its a standard 20A circuit, it can't pull 2800. It would be 400 over the limit.

Doh! I thought this was Uni's- I didn't see the eBay link. The seller has it configured for 240v AC. It has a NEMA 6-20 plug installed in photos. That requires a 20A 240v circuit.

240V service these days is fairly uncommon, without one requesting such.

My house is a mess. 100A service, 15 amp circuits from the 70's. Needs to all be ripped out and throw away.

yeah guess hams that run amps like to have 240 volt outlets,  the amps's run more efficient and cooler at 220/230/240,

yeah that amp at full drive can output 2000 watts,  witch is 500 over the legal limit. 

it has a couple of these bad boys in it.
