Trouble for quantum HDD on Mac SE

Hello! I have a Mac SE. I recently replaced the dead mini scribe HDD with a 40mb quantum. Drive works but led does not. I figured that maybe I put it on backwards so I attempted to flip it and the jumper does not fit on the pins that way. Any idea what to do?

Maybe bend the pins a little up and try putting it on? Make sure it won't touch anything metal when installing.

From that pic, the black lead is ground which corresponds to the square pad as depicted. I guess I'd check both as to whether the LED & wiring is OK and if that drive has a working LED connector to begin with.
