three cables in a Macintosh XL

Ok.  Still not having any joy.

The cable to the Lisa Lite card goes in either way no problem (either one).

Plugged it in, red to the top, and the computer boots but gives an Error 57.  Lite card I believe and the floppy keeps trying to eject.

Plugged the cable in the other way and I just get 3 beeps (low, high, low) and no video or other activity.

Found a cable to connect the hard drive to the rear parallel port but no activity from the hard drive (fan doesn't turn on either).

I saw a video of the same hard drive setup on youtube and they had a power cable plugged into it as well.  Do I need to plug another cable into the hard drive?  All I can see is to use the other ribbon cable (same as floppy) and plug that into P2 towards the rear of the  Sun hard drive interface board.

If some one had the same setup and included some pictures that would answer a lot of questions!

Thanks guys.

Looking at the SUN board:

P1 is the data connector, this should be cabled to the PAR port on the back of the Lisa2 (or the internal widget par cable of the 2/10)

P2 & P3 are the power connectors.  On a 2/10 P3 is used to connect the widget power cable.  P2 would be used to get power from the upper (longer) twiggy cable on a Lisa2, the other twiggy cable would go to the Lisa Lite card.

To locate pin 1 of P2 see this photo:

Hope this helps.

Thanks Rick.  All plugged in but I keep getting Error 57 (Lisa Lita adaptor?).

Hard drive doesn't spin up so maybe it has seen better days.

Might need to buy a Lisa Lite card and see if that solves the issue- there doesn't seem much on them to go wrong though.

Hi.
I have a Lisa just like the one described by TIMBO.
I connected the flat wire with red wire to the Lite Adapter board and smoke came out of the floppy drive.  [:(] ]'>  Maybe the floppy disk was bad or maybe the connection was not correct.
Any of the 2 flat cables enter the Lite Adapter in any position.
What would be the correct cable and in what position?
Thank you.
