Not long after, I got a letter from this guy Peter Wagner, who'd been inspired to write a soundtrack for Tetris Max on a recording setup in his parents' basement. He sent me it on a cassette tape, which I digitized using SoundEdit and a Farralon MacRecorder. Those were the days.
I used to get letters from all over the world from people bragging about their high scores. That was fun.
Love Tetris Max--the graphics, the music, everything about it. Best way to spend down time between studying for finals back in 2007 when my iBook G4 broke and all I had was the old clamshell...
I'm pretty sure the music can be opened in ResEdit. I also remember Peter Wagner being a Depeche Mode fan, which is (I think) the reason I like the soundtrack so much.
This is a special song in that it features the very rare occurrence in which I used a loop. If you listen closely you'll hear an "exotic-like foreign-ish" nylon string guitar. That's the loop - looping every 2 measures during the chorus. During the solo and the end of the song I'm playing guitar sounds which are placeholders until I can re-record it using real electric guitar.
