System 6 Browser Development Opinions

It can be built using Think C5.0 which is apparently available.

I've also built it using later MPWs including the current one.

hey porter, trying 2 build browser7under the latest mpw. and i'm still a noob learning on gcc and xcode. so i'm a little wide eyed. when i try 2 build browser7 with the makefile mpw complains it can't find the command C. could someone help me out?

They removed the original C and replaced it with Symantec's C, so it's now called "sc".

I am seriously trying to find the time to do the rendering. It will get done, I assure you all.

How does one make aliases under system 6 when sys6 doesnt do it?

I assume thinkC does but im needling thru this haystack trying to find out....

Anyone let me cheat and tell me the answer?

The answer is you can't so you don't.

I am able to build the project on System 6.0.7, no aliases involved. All includes have to be in the project directory. I threw the MacTCP.h in the Apple Includes folder.

Yes it needs MacTCP, I make sure it doesn't if MacTCP not available.

I'm begining to think this project is vapour. Its valuable momentum seems to have slowed to a holt.

I have acquired a version of mpw 3.2 for system 6 sans dox , if anyone wants a copy pm me.

I also picked up a copy of think c v6 reference manual. All the great Api's and system calls are in it... $2 at the local dump recycling station! Anywho c Yas soon -dazza.

Unfortunately real people have to write real code and that takes real time in the real world along side all the other real commitments and a real job.

I am continuing the project and will do a drop for Xmas in whatever state it is in. If it isn't going at the pace you want you are welcome to pick it up.

the only thing I see that I would want in a system 6 browser is the google search bar in the top corner. that is the best thing ever

We do need a real "project page" for it though.
