Stylewriter II woes

Hey there! I was hoping someone might give me some suggestions. I got my hands on a nice stylewriter II printer. When I tested it, the printer seemed to work but when I would print, there wouldn't be an image that showed up on paper. I replaced the cartridge with a canon ink cartridge which is supposed to be compatible and still nothing. I have tried doing the options--clean and that didn't help. It is definitely connected to my Mac SE and TRIES to print but nothing shows up on paper. What's my next step?

Have you re-capped it? Pretty sure these suffer from the same leaky caps as everything else we deal with. Worth a shot as a first step, not saying it will definitely fix the issue as I know very little about printers.

Yeah I was just reading a little in the peripherals section and it does appear that these things need recapping. Ugh. I was hoping for an easy job!!
