source for DB-19 connectors

About a month ago, someone (tt?) posted here saying they'd found a source for DB-19 connectors. I've scoured the board today, and damned if I can find that post. Help! Anyone remember this, or know of a source?

Thanks! That didn't actually have the phrase "DB-19" so it didn't show up in my search.

I just ordered 10 male DB-19s from them. The Mac floppy drive emulator project is slowly moving forward.

Now that I think about it, I wish I'd ordered a female DB-19 too, so I could build an in-line passive interface for examining traffic to a real floppy drive. But I don't want to pay shipping all over again.

Got 'em!! Actual male DB-19 connectors, in the wild. They do exist!



Shipping was $10. I'll go back for female connectors later if needed.

Radio Shack used to have a DB-25 <-> 2 rows of headers w/jumpers <-> DB-25 that was handy for adapting to DB-15 for Mac connector/converter playtime. I'll bet it's still available, maybe even for less than $10 at the Crap-Shack!

No luck at Crap-Shack but Similar adapters are available.

Hmm, I'm not sure how that would work. You can cut off the extra pins on the male DB-25 to make it into a hacky DB-19, but what do you do on the female side? Hack off part of the connector body with a Dremel or something?

First remove the metal shield. I used an X-ACTO saw to cut the angle in the plastic. A hacksaw will do nicely for excising the six pins and plastic waste. Then use a file to round the plastic off to DB-19 cross section. Leave the old the shield off, as the plug end shield works fine.

When you're done playing with the FDD project, cut it down to fifteen pins for playing with sense lines/video settings.
