Here are some photographs of the CRT. The metal frame has rusted and there is some slight 'burn in'.

Put a drop of 3-in-1 or Miracle oil on that clamp screw on the end of the yoke to free it up. The yoke needs to be removed and replace with the one he has with the SE/30. This should be easy to do.

I'm about to say this.

There are a few small things that you can perform the same thing over and over again, and expect different results. 

Glitching or electronic fault induction is one of them.
