I have a MacIntosh SE/30 with a (Euro) Sony CR-44 psu with a burnt glass fuse F601, but there’s no marking on the fuse if it’s fast- or slow-type, only that it’s rated 250V 4A. So which ones should I try, fast or slow?
Get both, try a fast, see if it survives the inrush current when the system is switched on.
The ASTEC schematics show a AGC-3 fuse, so they use a 3A fast acting one.
The big storage cap that would bring the most inrush capacity on the Sony is behind a thermistor that limits the current until its gotten hot. So that should be okay.
