SE/30: Problematic ReCap

NIGHT STALKER

Hi, gang, little help please. I swapped something-or-other for a known not functional SE/30. It had been a first time stab at a recap job of a working board. I've checked it some for shorts, but realized last night that a reversed polarity cap might be the problem. I've not recapped a board to date and plenty of SE/30s have been done. Can any of you see anything obviously wrong in these pics?

TIA for any help.

on second picture, chip rp7-12so40z -  might be a blob of solder between the pins above the 2 and s of 12so40z , may just be a via under the pins -  i had that on a classic after a recap - drove me mad, found it , popped it off with a pin and up she fired

THX, that's an excellent start, guys. I'll check rp7 tonight. F2 and F3 test good to the board on both ends and across the middle. I'll "boot it up" tonight, have no recollection of its behavior. First I'll clean up/desolder/resolder C2, there's a nasty mess underneath the leg that's not messy up top. So it goes.

That board looks familiar... ;)

If it helps, this board worked fine until I tried recapping it with a cheap Weller soldering iron. Those tips just don't last :p . I struggled around C2, so I could have damaged something in that area. The first boot after the recap gave me a death chime along with a flash on the screen. After that, it was done.

Hiya, snake, I wasn't mentioning any names, but thanks for the help. What the heck was it I gave you and did you get it up and running OK?

Everything's cool, mj contacted me for parts from my 27" pile of PartsBook/1400s. He's sending me a known good, recapped SE/30 MoBo shipped within its chassis and plastics to  .  .  .  help?   .  .  .  me through my current episode of the dreaded SE/30 madness. I may have a deal with somebody (competent with electronics, as opposed to this idiot) local who owes me for a machine and (if can recover one from the morass of prototyping detritus) may want a NuBus extender cable out of my hoard.

So long as neither of us has managed to murdered A/B or PSU in our misguided efforts, things are looking good, USPS notwithstanding
