SE/30 double image

Ok this is on an SE/30 that I’ve been trying to get working for a while. I took it to JJ Dasher and he was able to get it to this point.

It does boot to the finder. But at every stage it has this weird double image thing going on.

Has anyone encountered this before.

Before anyone asks, yes this has been recapped.

Ok. Update. I found that pin 11 of UC8 had no continuity. So I resoldered the joint and it is not working 100%. Apart from the fact I still need to address the logic board.

I was going to say that this is a missing input on one of the VRAM address muxes.

I just had a board with a similar issue on my workbench.

Fun thing was that the connection was intermittent, so on the first round of buzzing out everything checked fine.

Tested all the muxes afterwards and they were fine too but replaced them anyways with new ones.

Another round of ringing out the address signals then revealed the broken trace. The trace only barely made contact one of the solderpads. Contact went and came when you moved the board around.

This nearly drove me nuts :D

I was going to say........thats how all Macs look to me now!!!! -- my eyesight went from 20/20 to shite/shite about 2 years ago - and getting worse. Me thinks solder fumes from recapping , are not good for the eyes - either that , or old age - jaaaaysus!!!!
