Recapped IIci takes too long to fire up

I just completed a IIci recap two nights ago. It went well, but the board had seen better days so I wasn't feeling 100% positive about it working straight away.

It actually works and works quite well, but with one weird issue-- it takes 3, sometimes 4 seconds of holding down the power button for it to fire up. This holds true for the rear case button, as well as the keyboard power button. It takes barely a touch on the rear power button for it to turn off. So I think the switch is fine.

I have tried two separate power supplies, washed the board thoroughly and touched up the new caps.

I had to touch up some of the traces on the board as well, but to me this sounds more like a cap issue then a trace issue. Or could a bad trace cause this behavior?

I did; I changed all axials and smc's.

Maybe an axial is slow to charge up. These have a higher voltage rating then the originals, but I've used them before and never had this issue. Maybe one's bad and I should just throw in new axials and see what happens.  That's easy enough if this doesn't sound like a known trace-related issue.

Wait, I just realized this was in the compact mac subforum! lol

Get your multimeter ready, as you are probably going to have to probe some connections as detailed in the schematic. Good luck!

Yes, that schematic was very helpful. I emailed an admin earlier to assist in moving the thread.

And for that matter, isnt the the SE/30 a Mac II?! :p

SE/30 seems to be described as IIx/IIcx in a box by quite a few....

I guess IIci is a compact II; lol
