PowerBook G3 Wallstreet USB Card Issues (Adaptec AUA-1420A)

So recently I had purchased an Adaptec AUA-1420A USB2Connect Card for by Wallstreet. The reason was that I had gotten a Macally iShock gamepad that I had hoped to use with it, however after installing the "USB Adapter Card Support 1.4.1", which I have heard people say works for them, the controller was not being recognized by either "Macally iShock Manager" or "USB Overdrive 1.4" despite the small light on the controller turning on. I tried to reinstall MacOS 9.1.2 to use the default drivers, and that didn't work as I did not see any devices listed in the system profiler or in the iShock program. After that I updated to 9.2.2 and still nothing, even with Macally iShock Drivers reinstalled. The reason why I'm using an iShock is because it's the only usb peripheral I have to use with this since I've tried 2 USB sticks and neither receives power (lights up). Keep in mind that when installing the 1.4.1 USB drivers, I deleted all preinstalled USB extensions beforehand. Anyways, now I'm stumped and I rather not purchase another USB card. What now?

Ok, so after some more testing, I can conclude that the issue was with that particular controller, and that particular USB stick since any other one that I used simply worked.

Do you have the wall-wart power adapter plugged into the connection between the two USB outlets on the Adaptec card? If not, perhaps the iShock requires more current than the card can provide without that external power.
