Powerbook 1400c with cracked cover and PB 1400cs with sound problem

I’ve had this on a couple of different 1400s, so it seems to be a common issue.

It also is limited to the speaker: sound output via the audio Jack is unaffected.

I know it’s esthetically not the best solution but I solved it this way on my 1400c.
