Power Conversion Question 120 to 240v AC

techstep

I have a Mac Plus in my collection that was originally sold in Europe. Thus, it has a 240v compatible PSU. I'm in the US, and here the standard voltage is 120v.

I bought this converter on Amazon, as I wanted to 1) try out the computer but 2) keep the internals original

When I read the manual, I realized this only converts voltage, and doesn't adjust the frequency. EU is 50hz, and US is 60hz. Is this going to be a problem? Are there any other recommended solutions besides swapping out the analog board?

EDIT: Oops, this can go in the Lounge, doesn't need to be under 'Conquests', although I did get this mac recently :)

It's a switch-mode power supply in there, so frequency really doesn't matter. I do the opposite for a couple of machines with 120V PSUs.

The 240v version of Mac Plus is using the international version of the analog powersupply board which can be converted to 110v with only a jumper wire. It's marked on the board where to do this , if you don't mind opening the Mac.

Yes i agree with RetroTheryboy, most are the International type and are clearly stated that way, so a jumper wire and you are done.
