Portable with 7.1: where's the contrast?

Hello everyone,

Thanks to @maceffects great efforts, I now have 8 MB of RAM in my Portable. I installed 7.1 last night to get this thing in gear. I did, however, notice something: the PowerBook control panel replaces the Portable one from System 6. There is, however, no slider for contrast anymore. I tried to use the Brightness control panel instead (that usually is used on the Classic), but it said it "Cannot be used with this Macintosh," despite being installed by the 7.1 installer.

Bottom line: how does one adjust this on a Portable with 7.1?

Can you just manually copy the Portable control panel from a System 6 installation over?  That would probably be my first thing to try...

You should be able to use the Portable Control Panel in System 7. I think that's how its setup on mine anyway. I think the Portable battery meter works fine as well.
