Just finished installing 7.6.1 and some other things. Went to shut down for the night, and the system powers itself back on immediately. It doesn’t even sound like it fully shuts down. I can hear it park the HDD, screen goes black, then comes back on. Any ideas?
I never used a Performa 638 CD so I’m curious if it has “server mode” just like a Mac IIsi where the on button in the back is able to be turned to the on position on a permanent basis? Therefore a shutdown will actually not happen. On the IIsi the button just turns and locks in the on position preventing shutdown.
If that isn’t the case here then perhaps there’s a control panel installed that can do the same with software.

No, that’s not a feature on these. I am fairly certain that problems with turning itself on as soon as power is applied is a power supply issue. These are known to have pretty dodgy / failure prone power supplies.
