Did you use a PCI card in it, the 6300 PSU would supposedly be fine with no expansion card function required? Don't know if ALL PCI cards requite 3.3V, it's just a voltage required by the spec. AFAIK.The 3.3v line hack requirement has been "common knowledge" since the TAKKY day.
The only thing I'm going on here is that LEM quote regarding overall power related concerns. "Working" on the ragged edge of adequacy and working comfortably within spec are two very different things. PCI expansion card or lack thereof would be a major factor in where the power line is drawn in the sand. That's why I'm curious enough to check out the ratings of my 6290 and 6360 PSUs. LEM's often wrong, but the don't often update those errors, that's why I'm lending credence to their admonition.
