I finally got a newer PC after months of using a crappy etower. Its a generic P4 2.66 GHZ with 512 MBs of RAM. I have installed Windows 2000. Its a full ATX. It is missing the IO plate and the fan is a bit noisy. I need a new HD and video card as the ones I put in were for the crummy etower. Once I get some new parts I'm going to get Counter Strike: Source on it. I love the concept of not quitting explorer.exe to make a skype call.

My friend's mom upgraded. The oddest and most annoying feature of the motherboard is that there is a place for an AGP slot but it is lacking a slot!

Not that unusal. Many motherboard mfgs simply leave off features to create a cheaper mobo. Lots of time you will see items listed in the docs as OPTIONAL. They don't create a new mobo design, they simply leave things off.

The first iMac had the space on the mobo for a floppy drive port. If you solder in the headers you can hook up a floppy drive to it.

Neat piece of info with the iMac! Silly manufacturers, I dislike getting the low end stuff! Stop selling them to my friends!

To be fair, removing the floppy drive on the original iMac was probably considered a bit of a gamble so they probably left the electronics and spot for the header in there just in case.

It might be possible, though my soldering skills are terrible and I don't want to kill this computer. My friend has another and he says it should be faster and I could keep the hard drive this time. I bet it might have an AGP slot. I don't know when he will have time to bring it over though as I had to wait a few weeks for him to get this one to me. I have about $100 to spend on parts to get this machine to play Counter Strike: Source, I know a person who has many computers and parts so I bet I can spend a pretty small amount to get what I need.
