Outbound Notebook 2000 and 2030

Hello,

Does anybody know if the Outbound Notebook, the Macintosh compatible notebook sold in the early 90’ by that company with the kangaroo logo, model 2000 has any other difference with the model 2030, other than the CPU/ROM/RAM (2000 should have a 68000, the 2030 has a 68030) daughterboard?

Thank you!

I don't know the answer, but your question looked so lonely there I wanted to post...

It's a good question.  With the removable CPU card that could be the only difference.  I have a vague memory that says they had models with active matrix and model with passive matrix displays.

I think your answer may need to come from looking in a ca. 1989/1990 Mac  magazine like MacUser.   You might check with Trash80toHP_Mini .   He seems to come up with these old magazine ads some times, so you could ask him if he's found an on-line resource for the old magazine copies.

The best source would be one of the articles that compared the new Apple PowerBooks to the Outbound models.    But even browsing the old advertisements for Outbound laptops might tell you a lot.

Post back here if you find an answer, please.
