Okay, so I got a Sil 3114 based, pre-flashed and VRM modded 4-port SATA card on eBay, which I installed in my QS G4.
It works out of the box in OS X - I installed 10.4, it's recognized as a bootable device when I hold down 'option' at startup, and it works fine and is pretty fast.
However, the connected drive doesn't appear in OS 9. The card appears in the System Profile as a "SCSI card" which I believe is normal, but no additional ATA or SATA buses are shown, nor are any storage devices.
Googling around, I’ve found threads that mention a driver existing, but it seems like the ones I find to download either require 10.4 or are for the 3112.
Any guidance is appreciated. Thanks!
