Only slightly belated conquest...

Back in October, to the tune of $30, I purchased the following from Sawtoothdude for my Duo 2300c:

Apple Minidock

External floppy drive

12MB RAM card

I just remembered I hadn't posted about it when I took the Duo out to play this weekend. I had OS 8.1 on it for some reason (and dear God it was slow as molasses through a strainer  ) so I did a clean install of 7.6.1. It's much more usable now and I don't have all of this random Finder hanging anymore.

After that, I installed After Dark Classic (which I found in storage at my office, on 3 floppies!!!), FileMaker Pro 3, ClarisWorks 4 and a handful of games and other apps.

It feels so much more responsive and I just love the form of the machine. I'm stuck at 256 colors but that's all I need! Not so much love for that stiff keyboard though. (suggestions on making that more tolerable are very welcome!) It would be cool to have a trackball over the touchpad one of these days. ;D

I think that's my Minidock (well... WAS my Minidock). I traded it to Sawtooth dude for some SDRAM. Funny that it's back in Ohio!

He actually mentioned he had paid for this one so it's possible it's different. Or maybe it is the same one! Who knows. It's been really handy - I have a Duo Dock Plus but it's not as easy for just shoving in a floppy to install something and move on.
