Decoded the serial number and it was made the 27th week of 1991. So it's later for a Classic, but not so late it has a Classic II shell.

Yep! Also be sure to take off the white back panel on the back of the analog board and clean that side as well. That's where my shorts were happening.brown cap juice
Of course you ought to make your own decisions, but here are two points of note:I'll see if I can find something to discharge the CRT so I can get to work on the high voltage board. I need an anti-static band or wire to connect a screwdriver to the ground point, and I need a non-magnetic screwdriver.
