NewerTech 400Mhz G4 for 7/8/9x00 PCI PowerMacs!

Thanks to random boredom and a trip to eBay, I got a G4 upgrade for $9.99! With shipping it was $17, but still one awesome deal considering what I've seen them go for in the past!

I have 2 machines it is compatible with: a 7500 series and a Umax S900. If I end up with a 9600 from the retired pile at work, it will definitely be going in there!

I popped it in the Umax without even installing the software and it reports an unknown processor at 445Mhz under OS 8.6. Hopefully the MaxPower utility or whatever it's called will give more detailed info!

You need the driver to set the cache up I think.

Most likely. I'll have to check it out when I set it up again - I don't have a good place to set it up right now, I just take over the kitchen table as time allows.
