My // GS is ROM03

Today I discovered that the //gs I got from eBay is ROM03. Is it possible I can have list of games that are not compatible with ROM03 on it and what I can do to go around that problem?

Thanks in advance.

I haven't been able to find a list yet so I'll throw my two cents in and say so far I've seen Tetris cannot run on my ROM 3, with no solution.

See:

The ROM03 is far less noisy than a ROM01, and has more RAM built in.  You'll be much happier with it, especially if you do anything with GSOS.

LOL! Two game that I don't care about doesn't work? Ppppheeww! IT IS AN AWESOME PURCHASE THEN!! I am going to be very happy with it...especially when I AM GOING TO BE GS OSING my heart out haha! You are right, it is the best purchase ever and I AM GOING TO EVERYTHING with GS OS! I am going to develop application for GS OS....and I am going to develop games for GS OS...everything for GS OS!

BEST PURCHASE EVER!! THANKS!!

Ah that... seems like a bit of an overreaction to me haha... but yeah in general the 3 is better, the only time one should want a 01 instead is if you want to run those old GS programs, IIe and newer GS stuff should be better in the 3... but I wish I had Tetris.

Hey Jinnai do you have a spare Apple //gs null modem that I can hook it into my PC for ADT Pro

no but you can get one from http://retrofloppy.com/products.html for a reasonable price, thats where I got mine and it works well, you can also try info@th3artofmac.com, (turn 3 into an e) just ask them if they have one for sale cause I know they used to, but the first link really is reasonable and a great product.

I know that place! Sadly the shipping cost is outrageous! It cost like up to 60 dollars USA just to ship to me two cables and a floppy disk. It will cost me up to 150 to 160 dollars CAD to buy two cables and a disk.

Oh, thats pretty expensive, bummer. I could help you with a diskette but you mainly need the cable anyway. Try to reach my friend Chris at the art of mac then, maybe worth a shot.

It's indeterminate.  There are two types of cables like this - straight-through (typically used for a modem) and null-modem (typically used for a printer).  Your listing doesn't say which it is, but you need the null modem/printer one.  The straight-through type will not work.

Looks like a Prolific 2302 clone.  It may work, depending on the driver you install.  Prolific has been known to brick clone devices with driver updates.

Thin items that don't require boxes can go in fixed-price envelopes; use the contact link to inquire about special pricing.  Most folks outside the US go this route since the PayPal postage calculator is extra zealous and doesn't know details like that.

This is my favorite IIgs accessory. I use one of these in conjunction with with this instead of ADTPro because, well, netboot is cool, and it's a way to play with GS/OS without having a hard disk.

(Edit: Okay, technically I have one of these, not the Asante model, but they're all good.[/url] The minor annoyance of the Farallon model I have is it has a Phonetalk RJ-11 jack on it, so I need a little more wiring between it and the adapter. The Asante just needs a 3 pin Localtalk cable if you plan to just bridge to a single system.)

F it! I purchased it from the retro guy and got it over with! I will just wait then! I am tired of waiting and I want to use my Apple //gs.

Question, what is the best joystick for my Apple //gs?

Thanks in advance.
