Approx 12 Macs. One is an eMac. $22

Approx 12. Most are Macs. $22

I can't take in any more after this (the possible Computer Works stuff excepting) due to space issues. I will be having a huge sell off over the next few months. eBay, Craigs List, whatever. I need to clear out at least 30 CRTs (CRTs includes AIO Macs).

Holy sweet G4....
Could you please please please, send a quicksilver? It doesn't need a hard drive, ram or disk drives.
I actually have a QuickSilver right now that's missing all that stuff. 733 MHz. You have to send me some money first though :beige:

Neat, but those don't look like Quicksilvers? Seems like an awful lot of work just hauling the stuff around: Do you have a forklift or at least a pallet jack and a good-sized truck?

Maybe they aren't QuickSilvers. It's still a good deal though. In any case they're G4s which are always hot. I'll definitely be able to turn them around for a nice profit.

I don't have any forklift or pallet jack or even a truck. One time I rented a van and one time I rented a U-Haul truck on earlier pickups. They put the pallets directly into the van/truck using their own forklift and I drove away, breaking down the pallets elsewhere for storage. However these are too expensive, the van usually runs $70+ with mileage and it uses anywhere to 2x-4x as much gas as my car. All other times I used my compact car and most of the time one of my friends (who also seem to own only compact cars) also helped. We break down the pallets at the warehouse and pack the cars to the brim. Some stuff like VGA monitors and other crap go directly to Goodwill or whoever has the nearest donation center.

My friend tomorrow may have access to a Ford Explorer though which would help.

yeah, they look like standard graphite G4s..

yea but that can be anywhere from a Yikes to a Digital Audio G4 and the DA G4 as basically the same (in regards) sept for a few differences like the case design the 12v power lead to the CPU and a few other things.

they could be QS G4s cause i dont see the lines in the handles

Look closely; they're there :p

Also, I have a Quicksilver, and the back of the case isn't as dark as they look in that picture.

yeah those are definitely pre-quicksilver G4's. i'd be willing to bet they're probably sawtooth/gig-e's or low-end DA's.

They are 500 MHz Graphite G4s. Still nice though. I actually sold a system (G4 with CRT) to someone in the parking lot as I was loading up. I'll have no problem selling these.

The one pallet I only paid $22 for had not one, not two, but 4 eMacs. One is a 1 GHz, 512 MB RAM with Panther and Adobe Creative Suite CS2, boots and works great. Another is a 1.25 GHz, 512 MB RAM but it freezes with weird lines and stuff after it boots. It also has Adobe CS2. These were apparently used in the Yearbook office and only just now taken out of service - there is 2008 Yearbook stuff on the one. I have not looked at the other two yet.

I also got some boxed LaserWriter 8500 cartridges and a boxed Apple 2400 bps modem. Standard assortment of about 15 LC 5xx/PowerMac 5xxx as well.

The one freezing eMac may be covered on the eMac Repair Extension Program. The serial matches, but the program expires 3 years after original purchase date, which I assume is probably late 2004/early 2005. Some people have had luck going into the Apple Store and talking to a manager and stuff and getting it repaired. Back in 2007 a few people even got new iMacs because the eMac logic board was in short supply (possibly discontinued).

Was the eMac freezing problem a capacitor issue that you can fix yourself?

Out of curiosity what is your profit margin expectations when buying bulk lots? (need to make 2x your investement to bother etc)?

The G4s and iMacs and eMacs and stuff are the profit center. I would probably need to make at least 2x back for it to be worth the trouble. On iMacs I am making at least 3x back, same on these G4s. On the eMacs I will make 10x back because they were on a $24 pallet.

I have no profit expectation for the old LCs and Power Macs. I consider that more of a conquest/rescue operation. All the other bidders on these old Macs are either recyclers who can profit off the copper and such, or local choppers who take out the motherboard, HD, CD, and Floppy for parts sales and crush the rest. I slowly sell them here and on eBay. If it has a defect, it gets chopped for parts. Most work fine and I don't chop very many. I take out all of the cards and sell them separately and that alone usually pays off the pallet.

I have an elevated case with Apple about some of the eMacs.

One is less than 3 years old, but it falls out of the serial number range.

The other is in the serial number range but older than 3 years.

Of the one in the serial number range she says she can definitely help me with that. The other one isn't known yet, what they can do. I observed bulging capacitors in both. The repair program serial range is too small.

Edit: Both are being fixed free of charge by Apple.

Mike, in yer cache of items...do you have any toner cartridges for a laserwriter 16/600 ?

thanks

Both the eMacs at Apple store now. They have a 1.25 GHz motherboard in stock, repair takes 2-4 days. The 1.42 GHz motherboard is out of stock and he really didn't give an eta. Something about a number of weeks.
