More information about a couple of Radius video cards

Hello guys,

I recently won an auction on eBay for a bunch of 'vintage Mac stuff'. In the package were included three Radius video cards. Two are identical (Nubus?) cards, of rather short length, and identified by a sticker that says "RasterOps Paintboard Turbo XL, ©1994 RasterOps Corporation". The other appears to be a Radius PCI video card, but I haven't had much luck googling for info about this one, so I've taken some pictures of it:

1. An overview of the card.

2. Detail of the first half.

3. Detail of the second half.

4. A detail of the back (I don't know if it's useful).

I've found some information on the Paintboard Turbo XL, but I wanted some insights from 68kMLA soldiers 'in the field', so to speak. Is this a powerful card? Can it be an improvement on stock Macintosh video cards? Consider that the only Nubus Mac I care for at the moment is my Quadra 950.

Same goes for the other video card I took pictures of -- can someone identify it? Does it ring a bell? What about it?

Thanks in advance for all the help you may give me!

Cheers,

Rick

Well the site is old, any of the PCI macs should work with it, don't expect anything after OS 9 to work at all. Radius went under way before the B&W's were out, not sure if they lived to see beige g3 either. The card was decent for 60x processor machines but anything ATI or even 3dfx will probably be faster, which is why few hear about these cards (the Nubus line was killer, the PCI line was not by the time it shipped).
