Ugh. Arrived, looks the part. Cable, stylus, power ada...bugger. No power adaptor. Did not notice that on the eBay ad. Anyone who has one able to tell me what voltage etc it was? Who knows what the pinouts on the weird four-pin cable were. Bugger.

Fair - a late night whinge is not going to get me any help!

It’s a Summagraphics MacTablet.

The power plug plug comes off the serial port like so:

and its its plug looks like this:

I’m now wondering whether it might worked plugged into the little device that comes with a Thunderscan which harvests power from the floppy port. Will have to try that out, but in the meantime — anyone got one of these adaptors?

Well, it does not work with the ThunderScan power from the floppy drive widget. "Yeah it works" eBay question answer my arse. Ah well. Back to the hunt.

Installation program is interesting:

Also a 16GB SD card in a SCSI2SD, apparently.

Hey Elbaroni!

Apologies for the thread necro but I have a MacTablet without software. By chance did you ever make a copy of the software?

Also, if you could post some info about the power supply (if you have one) I’d be most grateful. Never did manage to track one down.

Right. So I bought a PC-based Summagraphics tablet on the off chance that it had the same adaptor, and it looks like it does. Restricted to North American voltages unfortunately, so I’ll need to get an inverter before I can plug it in to check which pin’s which. However, it’s a Sino-American RAW212-301, apparently available here. See attachments for pictures. I’ll post again here once I’ve tested.

(Also, of course, this could be a totally different adaptor with the same plug. My MacTablet might blow up. I’ll let you know.)

And the f*#+~ng thing won’t fit in the transformer. So I have to buy a US power board. Siiiiiiiiiigh.

Those transformers usually use "universal" combination Schuko/US sockets. See if you can find a US to Schuko adapter locally, grounded or not (the ungrounded 2-pin variety will probably give best fit). One of those should give you enough lift to plug in the wall wart. Alternatively maybe find a US extension cord. Either option shouldn't be more than a few dollars or quid or whatever and shouldn't be that hard to find.

One of those three outlet adapter plugs found on the 'bay should work as well. That way, it's still grounded, but there will be enough space between the outlet on the transformer and the raised part on it.

Something like this...

Thanks Volvo and Frank. There are a few companies selling US plug equipment in Australia. I’ll have a hunt to find the cheapest option. I will get there.

So, we know that power supply works. Note also the complete in box one on US eBay at the moment. If someone buys it, please scan the manual.

One thing that confused me for a while: it seems you need to launch the desk accessory the installer installs before it’ll work. Each boot. I assume that loads some resources in pre-init System Software.
