Hello I have a recapped Performa 600 board that has been recapped and a known good PSU won't boot it, neither will soft power switch. There is no life or LED, any ideas?
Here's some photos of course by C18 and C9 on a iivi, iivx, or Performa 600 there's some bad corrosion as usual. I didn't have any solder mask so scraped away corrosion, confirmed continuity, and flowed clean solder on the exposed copper. Board looks good and any goo you see is just flux that hasn't been wiped away yet.
Issue fixed. Under the Egret there is a via (in the area of the black box of the below image). I found that the via on both sides had good continuity but absolutely none going to the Negative trace of C21 on the top side of the board, this despite it appearing solid and I assumed it was okay. It wasn't and because the via was in bad shape up top I ran a wire from this trace to the back of the board to make the connection, and poof powers on and works perfectly.
