Mac SE/30 and Apple 600e external CD drive

OK several problems.

When turn on, it doesn't not make the bong sound. I don't know if a Mac SE 30 should make that sound or not when starting up. Second, sound volume is kind of low. Third problem is it won't display any CD on the desktop when I insert a CD into the external CD drive. I just got the CD drive from Ebay. I tested it with my Quadra 605 and the cd drive works perfectly. Both the Mac SE/30 and the Quadra use system 7.1 and the same CD drive software. Are all of these problems the result of bad capacitors?

Yes, I believe that the first two are caused by bad caps.

For the third issue, I assume you've terminated the drive correctly? (one Centronics-50 terminator where the chain ends)

I had to turn 32 bit on for it to use the CD drive. It's working now.
