Mac Plus 6.0.8 change keyboard layout

Hello there !

I have a Mac Plus with a french layout keyboard.
I have made my own boot floppy disk with Minimal Mac Plus 6.0.8 system (no network, no printer etc...).

Now what should I add to this boot disk so I can change the keyboard layout from us to french ?
I have the Macpack disk image which has a 'keyboard ' control panel application in 6.0.8 folder but dont know where to move it on floppy...

I believe you also need to install the keyboard layout in the System…but I’ve never done that in System 6. Someone will chime in I’m sure.

It is possible to drag and drop a keyboard layout onto a non working system FILE. After that in the control panel this layout is selectable.

Very interesting. I knew how to choose the layouts in the Control Panel, but never knew how to add them to the System in System 6. Thanks!

They mean one you're not booted from. So a copy, or boot from another disk.

Hi, thank you all in advance for the tip. Unfortunately it did not work for me. I tried to drag the deutsche file on the file system of Mac plus hard drive after booting from floppy.. but it just does not work... it instead copy inside the folder. what am I doing wrong?

You can use this

Localizer 3.5 - Macintosh Garden

DL #1 contains a Disk Copy 4.2 image of a Localiser 3.5 floppy disk from 1990. It is a system localiser. The system on the disk is 6.0.4 so you could boot from that if your setup is suitable. The localisation is for System 6 and 7. The disk may not be an original copy. DL #2 contains v.

You know the difference between a FILE and a FOLDER ?

You should drag and drop the layout to the FILE named "system", not into the folder.

Yes, I know... but thanks for asking again.. i move the layout ONTO the file named "system" but it just copies INTO the folder instead. however the approach proposed by slomacuser worked it out. thanks!
