Looking for Dual Pane File Manager, Image Browser

I have three ongoing frustrations with Mac OS Classic in general, and Mac OS 7.5 and 8.6 in specific, which I am running on my Quadra 660AV and my PowerMac 7500 respectively. I wonder if you might be able to help:

1/ Double clicking a folder in Finder opens a new window instead of opening the new folder in the same window. Is there any way to overcome this?

2/ I can't seem to find a dual pane file manager anywhere in the wealth of abandonware out there. A dual pane file manager is simply one window with a left and right pane, each of which can display a separate folder. It supports simple drag n drop file copies, moves and so on. Is there anything out there like that for Mac OS Classic?

3/ I continue to struggle to find a simple, lightweight image browser, a Mac OS Classic equivalent to Xee or JustLooking for Mac OS X, where you can double click on any image in a folder of images, have that image displayed, and then simply press the left or right arrow (or PgUp, PgDn) to view the next image or the last image - you can then view each image in the folder by just advancing to the next picture and the next, and so on. Does anyone know of something like this for Mac OS Classic?

Thanks!

I believe there's an option under the "view" menu. When on the Finder there should be something like "view options" where you can change the behavior of opening folders. (Can't remember which version it was introduced in.)

As for dual pane file manager, a search resulted to Greg's Browser

JPEGView is one of the best simple image viewers. :D (I'm pretty sure it has the functionality you're looking for.)

I didn't know about the shareware Control Panel, but that author is a legend — produced Aaron among other things. That is about as good as you got in Mac shareware.
