LC 475

I have been given another LC, the last of the range this time.

Really clean and working flawlessly.

The 475 seems to be a bit picky with screens, tried with a flat screen but get a message stating frequency was too high, then a pair until image appeared (yes i changed Pram battery first)

Anyway, pretty fast compared with the original one and even the LC III.

really? isnt the LCIII and the 475 the same motherboard?  Been a while and I have swapped so many LC boards I dont remember.

68030 in the LCIII vs 68040 (actually 68LC040) in the 475,  both at 25 MHz. The 475 can take up to 132mb vs 36mb in the III.

Nice score; I was super fond of the 475 when it came out and have been looking for a nice one.

Congrats! The 475 is a nice machine. It's easily overclockable to 33Mhz as well without making any concessions.

The 475 has a 250 Mb hard drive, 36 Mb of Ram and Vram installed.

Also what looks like an Ansante Ethernet card...

Came with keyboard and mouse, also the display, but the plastic casing of this one literally fell apart.

The LC475 is a very interesting machine. Cool find - it's nice to have gotten the display alongside it (albeit crumbling!). For some reason, I've got about three 475s. One came with the monitor, as well. Can't decide if I'm more fond of the LC III or the 475 - perhaps the former simply because of its links to the original LC (my first Mac) and the drop-in FPU slot. Can't remember off the top of my head if the 475 has that option as well. Anyway, nice one!

LazarusNine, the LC 475 doesn't have a FPU socket as the 68LC040 CPU is socketed and can be replaced with a 68040 that includes FPU.

Ah yes of course! I remember briefly considering a CPU swap in one of the 475s until I got a full 040 machine. Thanks for the clarification. =)
