YES! $5 each! SCORE! I've been sick for the past week with a monster cold, but on the bright side I was actually home to receive the mail. My two NEW motherboards came in. At $5 each I nabbed two just in case. I got burned the last time I did this.

Fortunately, the two motherboards are flawless! Zero leaking caps. Everything is minty green. My LC is now booted! I'm gonna pimp it with my Presto 040 card. All I need is a SCSI to Ethernet adapter.

The cool thing is that I can resurrect the other LC I bought jut for parts with the second motherboard. Now I have two LCs with brand new motherboards. :D

On a side note, is there any advantage to using a newer revision motherboard on the original LC? One of them is an older revision with the giant capacitor over one of the chips, and those horrible plastic RAM lots; the other is a newer one with the metal RAM slots, but it's missing the giant capacitor.

You lucky bastard. The LC II mobo I bought and received from them a week ago is about to blow up (literally-- a few times I've heard the capacitors whistling, and powered it down quickly!). I've already had ADB failure, sad Mac, death chimes, you name it....

The caps probably leaked while in storage. Just because it hasn't been used doesn't mean it is free of bad caps--the caps are as old as those on an LC that was used in an elementary school for 13 years.

Also, sometimes sellers think that a part is new/working just because it's in an Apple Service Source box when it really could be something older/used. I got a dead Classic analog board on eBay once that was advertised as new. However, it was actually an old dead board that someone had simply packaged inside an Apple box. The dirt on the power switch was evidence that it was used--a new part wouldn't have the grime that comes from a finger flipping the rocker every day.
