Is this speaker toast?

Found it like this when I took my PowerBook 100 apart, I didn’t break it as far as I know. It just appears to be glued in place, not actually electrically connected to anything on the speaker? So can I just stick it back in place and have working sound? Or am I going to have to shoehorn in another one?

There should be two little thin copper wires going to the coil on the speaker from the bit that has come free. They'd need to be reattached with solder.

If you just want to replace it, measure its depth and diameter and look for a 32 ohm speaker that matches those dimensions.

I had the same problem when I disassembled my PB100 (someone was there before and tear off the contacts) and I ended up getting this one:

I’ll have a look around for the wires, but I saw nothing at all coming out of the speaker, so I may have to swap it.
I think someone has been in mine before. There’s a ceramic cap in it that looks like it’s been resoldered in the past.
