Is BootX 1.2.2 compatible with 7.6.1?

I am working on getting linux on the 2300c (more on that later), but I can't seem to get BootX 1.2.2 running. It continuously quits with a Type 3 error. This is the case with both the base extension set or all extensions off. This is a clean install of 7.6.1 that I did a few weeks ago. (I haven't used it in the meantime.)

I'm not sure what to test next, ideas?
