imagewriters - appletalk card or not as to use with printer-ethernet bridges?

just wondered if appletalk was required or you don't have to install such card option to be able to use the printer with any of these third-party ethernet bridge?

Some of the bridges were made to put non-network printers onto the network. Others translated between LocalTalk/PhoneNet and ethernet, speaking AppleTalk.

The ImageWriter network card is to specifically put the printer on a LocalTalk network. It should work with any AppleTalk bridge or router.

sstaylor I had not thought of there being two different kind of bridges to choose from, at least now I know to be mindful of that if I ever actually looked for real!
