ImageWriter One to Mac SE?

Anyone know the ImageWriter one well? I have an SE and want to set it up for printing. I am not sure if I have the correct cable, but this is the issue.

Sys 7.0.1. Only SimpleText allows me to select the Print command. I know the printer is not very compatible with some software, so I tried MacProject also - which was sorta built for the printer. Still no print command, odd. But with SimpleText nothing really happens other than the watch for a few seconds when I tell it to print. In other apps I can enter Page Setup just fine and it does show the ImageWriter is the printer of choice.

DIP settings are factory default locations. I do have ImageWriter selected in the Chooser on the Printer Port. AppleTalk is thus not active.

Im going to hook it up quick to Mac Plus with Mac Project and see what happens. I am also going to look for more serial to 25 pin cables.

Any thoughts? Besides the cable, which could be the issue, I would think MacProject would still let me try to print.

Cable for sure. Forgot the Plus is not the old school serial so used a 128k. Printed fine. Now to hunt for a proper printer cable that is not a null modem type.

Din 8 to RS232 (ImageWriter) Cable was made by Apple for Plus, SE and Mac II Series. I think it was a cross over cable and not a modem cable.

But also, you need to look at the dip switches and see if they are set right. There was one setting for the Apple II Super Serial Card and another for the Macs. It should not be hard to figure out if you have the manual, in the least it should be online.

Dips are fine it seems, like I said the 128k printed fine. Has to be the cables. I have two but they looks pretty much the same other than length and color. I might have the right cable laying around.
