Imac G4 question

Does the screen on a G4 iMac go around and around enough to wind up the lcd wiring? This would presumably cause problems - and I am having problems with a 15" unit just acquired - but disassembly of the supporting arm for investigation looks pretty complicated. Anyone have any experience of working on these things? Need I be worried about this issue?

The reason is that I have managed to get a perfect screen image once with some fiddling with wires, but normally what is displayed is a multicoloured smudge. Could be the graphics chip too, I know, but pinched wiring seems a good deal simpler to correct.

Will take photos and post when I next have it out for tinkering. Got sidetracked by a couple of Digital Audio machines.

The only thing I would really worry about on the iMac G4 is the neck getting loose and the display starts to sag. I've never had this problem, but I've heard it's hard to fix once they start having that issue. The only other thing is if they are not stored/ shipped properly, the display can also become crooked. I've read that it is somewhat easy to fix this problem. Mine has a slight tilt in it and I'm going to try to fix it when I get around to it.

Also, good to note that whenever you work on the iMac G4 you have to replace the thermal paste on the bottom. :beige:
