Today I had to replace one of the hard drives used at the office for backups. It runs hot and becomes quite flaky when it's almost too hot to touch (losing the connection to the drive, etc).
I have just wiped the drive and am in the processing of checking it for errors. I'm not planning on using it for anything critical, but on occasion I have to backup data from another computer before wiping a drive. With a large fan in front of it the drive appears to behave itself.
This frees up a new 80GB I bought for the same purpose a couple of weeks ago to go into my G4. [
